The Heart of Worship

Hey everyone! Just got back from church tonight! It was great, as usual. :-) But one of the songs we sang is really why I'm writing tonight. "The Heart of Worship" by Matt Redman. Here's the lyrics:

When the music fades
And all is stripped away
And I simply come
Longing just to bring
Something that's of worth
That will bless your heart

I'll bring You more than a song
For a song in itself
Is not what You have required
You search much deeper within
Through the ways things appear
You're looking into my heart

I'm coming back to the heart of worship
And it's all about You
All about You, Jesus
I'm sorry Lord for the thing I've made it
When it's all about You
It's all about You Jesus

King of endless worth
No one could express
How much You deserve
Though I'm weak and poor
All I have is Yours
Every single breath

I'll bring You more than just a song
For a song in itself
Is not what You have required
You search much deeper within
Through the way things appear
You're looking into my heart

I'm coming back to the heart of worship
And it's all about You
All about You, Jesus
I'm sorry Lord for the thing I've made it
When it's all about You
It's all about You Jesus

Its all about you
Jesus

Anyway I haven't sung this at church for quite awhile, but every time I hear it I think of the same occasion. Almost 10 years ago now, it was right after I got saved and we were living in our apartment in Corona. My Dad was over and he gave me the Matt Redman CD with " Heart of Worship" on it. And he told me " listen to this song, full blast, (LOL) because this is the best feeling, right now, just being saved. Your not always going to feel like this. It fades and gets harder."

But right then it was so new and the fire so strong and the hunger for God and everything about Him is so new. It like having the scales taken from your eyes and seeing everything for the first time. And in a sense you are. The Holy Spirit comes into your heart and you do see things differently. You can't have the right perspective without Him.

Anyway, as I think back about that time. It's funny how you remember certain things. But I just remember that so clearly for some reason. And every time I hear that song I think about my Dad. I am so thankful for him and my mom. For their relentless prayers for me and my hubby! Now fast forwarding 10 years. I cant believe that! 10 years this July to be exact! But its true what my dad told me. It fades. Its not so easy all the time. Sin creeps back in, temptation knocks and I fell. I got back up again, but still....Its like going on a hike. In the morning, the sun is shining and beautiful and everything is new and fresh and off I go with a spring in
my step. Everything is new and exciting. And noon comes and the sun is still shining but its getting hotter, the spring in my step is now a steady slower walk, I'm not looking around and enjoying the view as much but more concentrating on the walk. Thirst starts settling in and sweat forming, legs aching, back cramping....still walking...but really tired now and stumbling on branches and tree roots. Now I'm hungry and have skinned up knees, thirsty and sweaty....The walk never changed. The sun never changed. The trees and the birds and flowers never changed....I changed. My focus changed. Reality sets in. Its the same exact thing with my Christian walk. But when I stop and rest in Him and drink from His Spirit and eat from His word. I'm revived again and my whole perspective changes. That song does that for me. It a wake up call for me about not letting the mundane redundancy of life turn my walk with the Lord into a chore, but that it may turn back into "the heart of worship"!

Blessings everyone! Have a great night!

Life sure is busy when your....busy

Hey everyone! Again, yes, I am still alive and well! Very busy though. But no excuse to not get on here and keep everyone updated. Let's see whats been happening. We've been working alot around the house. Trying to get the patio, that did leak horribly during the rains we got. We sealed it off today and are beginning to empty it out. Were going to have carpet put in there, but before that were painting. Yay! Yes that's not sarcasim, I love to paint. We picked the color out today and I hope to get started on that very soon, maybe within the next week! We also picked out the carpet and should have the estimate done this week hopefully too. I'm super excited about that. Eventually our current living room furniture will go out there and a tv too so the kids can play their playstation and stuff out there and not in the living room! It'll be nice to have that extra space.

And yes, our newest addition, Bailey. She's doing great also. A rough couple of nights at first, but the crate training is doing really well and she is too. The kids are having a great time with her although, the "pooper scooper" job is still a fight! (Big surprise though right?)

Joseph is doing great also. Growing like a weed! He'll be 5 months old in about 4 days! I cannot believe that. He's giggling and smiling all the time, blowing raspberries, making all kinds of sounds. He's still my cuddle bug, ( a very nice way of saying that he loves to be held :-) ) He also is eating cereals, pears, bananas, applesauce and carrots. His favorite by far is pears though!

Otherwise were all doing fine. Happy and healthy. I could use prayer though. I'm feeling really lead by the Lord right now and really could use prayer for my heart to be sensitive to His voice. I'll get into it a little more when I know more, but would covet your prayers greatly!

Love and Blessings to you all!

Heather
